Detailed Percentile Tables

The Detailed Percentile Tables contain detailed percentile lookup tables that show the exact percentile rank associated with every possible score on all easyCBM measures. The percentiles represent the proportion of students who performed below each given score. So for a student who scored in the 30th percentile, the teacher might tell the parent that the student scored above 30 percent of grade-level peers in the national norm sample.

To find the Detailed Percentile Table guide, login to your easyCBM Dashboard and click in the Reports tab.

Next, at the top of the page in the "Reports and Analysis" box, you'll see "Detailed Percentiles Table". Click the box to open a PDF with detailed percentile scores for each grade and measure.

Interpreting the Detailed Percentile Tables

Example: In this example, we look at a 5th grade student who took a Fall vocabulary benchmark test and scored a total of 15 correct. Next, to locate what percentile a score of 15 falls at, we take the total correct answers (15) and compare it to the "5th grade Fall Vocabulary" chart in the guide.

Rather than getting a "general percentile", this guide will show you the exact percentile that correlates to the student's score and here we see the student's score of 15 falls precisely on the 37th percentile.

Ideally, a student score should fall at or around the 50th percentile for them to be considered performing "on grade". If they are at the 50th percentile or above, no other testing in that area is needed until the next benchmark testing cycle.

If they fall well below the 50th percentile, an intervention with practice sessions will need to be applied in order to improve their score/percentile rank. Since this student's score falls below the 40th percentile, an intervention would be recommended containing practice sessions focused on 5th grade Vocabulary.
