Where do I find the Spanish measures?

The Spanish measures can be found alongside the English measures. If they are not showing in the areas indicated, you may need to enable them first.

To enable Spanish measures, go to the Account tab then click on the Manage Settings section and a pop-up page will open. Scroll down the page to Enable Measures and Features. Check the box next to Spanish Math and Spanish Literacy and the measures will appear for testing.

Math

For all of our math tests, we have both an English and Spanish audio read-aloud feature for all items that require reading. Spanish measures can be found alongside their English counterpart, in a separate column, by selecting a grade and scrolling down the Measures page.

Reading

The easyCBM Spanish language measures (with the exception of the Rapid Automatic Naming in the District version) are not simply translations of the easyCBM English language measures, but rather a tested variety of Spanish language early literacy measure types which would be the most predictive of later reading proficiency. We found that, unlike in English language measures, Letter Names, Letter Sounds, and Phoneme Segmenting did not predict later reading. However, Syllable Sounds and Syllable Segmenting did predict later reading (as did Spanish Word and Sentence Reading fluency). For the upper grades, we offer a Spanish language vocabulary assessment which, by design, is a test of students' reading comprehension as well as their vocabulary knowledge.

The reading Spanish language literacy measures are available for grades K-8 and were developed to be appropriate for assessing students receiving literacy instruction in Spanish. You'll have Spanish Syllable Segmenting, Spanish Syllable Sounds, Spanish Word Reading Fluency, and Spanish Sentence Reading Fluency (these last two are both Oral Reading Fluency measures) for the primary grades (K-2). In addition, for grades 2-8, you'll have access to Spanish vocabulary measures (which also assess reading comprehension due to the way they were designed).

For access to the Spanish reading tests, you will go to the Measures tab and select a grade and then click on the Spanish link under the Show: All section . This will direct you to a page with available Spanish reading measures.
